Meeting with Management of Ukrzaliznytsia and Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine

ACC ukrzaliznytsia meetingon June 30 the Chamber held a meeting with Yevgen Kravtsov, First Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Nadiya Kaznacheeva, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure on Privatization Issues and Wojciech Balczun, General Director of Ukrzaliznytsia. Among our speakers also were:

- Yuriy Gvozdev, Head of the Department on Management of State Assets, Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine;
- Roman Kogut, Head of the Department on Sea and River Transport, Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine;
- Volodymyr Sushchenko, Acting Deputy Head, State Agency on Automobile Roads of Ukraine.

The speakers focused mainly on railway, sea and river issues, developments on privatization process as well as other aspects in competence of the representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Ukrzaliznytsia.

Yevgen Kravtsov briefed the participants on railway issues, namely that in the nearest 1-2 years the rolling stock will become totally unusable, which means that management of Ukrzaliznytsia needs to decide which investment policy to choose in this regard.

Participants had a chance to hear from Nadiya Kaznacheeva regarding top pilot projects to be performed under the privatization process, among which will be parking in Boryspil airport; Kherson Sea Port; Oktyabrsk Sea Port; railway complex in Illichevsk Sea Port and hotel complex in Odesa Sea Port.

Wojciech Balczun told that in his view Ukrzaliznytsia needs new business model, which will help the enterprise to raise on the international level. At the same time, Mr. Balczun highlighted that the segment of cargo rolling stock needs to be expanded more efficiently. The speaker told that in his view the deficit of the rolling stock park is approximately 10 000 units.
