(Interfax-Ukraine) – The volume of construction work in Ukraine in April 2016 increased by 17.2% compared to April 2015, while the growth in March 2016 to March 2015 was 1.1%.
According to the State Statistics Service, the data do not include the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, and part of the ATO zone. Data on Donetsk and Luhansk regions may be adjusted.
According to the agency, the growth in April 2016 to March 2016 was 0.7%, while in March 2016 to February 2016 some 12%.
According to the report, in April 2016 from April 2015 the increase in the volume of construction work was observed in all areas of construction. The largest increase in the figure was recorded in construction of non-residential buildings (up by 31.5%) and civil engineering (19.7% up).
According to the State Statistics Service, in April 2016 to March 2016 the growth in construction of engineering structures totaled 5.9%, non-residential buildings 3.8%.
In January-April 2016 compared to January-April of 2015 the decrease in construction work volumes was recorded in eight regions of Ukraine. The largest decline in the four months of this year was recorded in Chernihiv region (by 19.1%, to UAH 109.8 million), Poltava region (by 18.6%, to UAH 902.9 million) and Khmelnytsky region (by 15%, to UAH 283.6 million).
